Day 1: Verde Canyon Railroad Sightseeing and Wine Tasting Extravaganza

Invigorate all your senses on the Verde Canyon Railroad open-air viewing cars!

Afternoon: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Begin your Clarkdale adventure in the afternoon with a train ride aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad. Marvel at the majestic red rocks and the Verde River as the vintage train takes you on a journey through the breathtaking Verde Canyon. It's a sensory delight, and a perfect introduction to the beauty of the region. Not to mention it is the perfect time of year to take advantage of the open air cars and do some serious leaf peeping! You will want to schedule and book your train tickets ahead of time. At the time of booking you can choose to add a lunch to make your ride even more enjoyable.

Tasting room at Chateau Tumbleweed

Evening: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

After the train ride, head over to Clarkdale's renowned tasting rooms - Bodega Pierce and Chateau Tumbleweed. Immerse yourself in the local wine scene as you sample a variety of exquisite wines. Each sip tells a story of the region's unique terroir and winemaking expertise. The delightful wines will set the perfect tone for your evening.

Night: Stay at the Historic Park Hotel

Day 2: Hiking and Wine Tasting

Park in the back parking lot of Yavapai College to find the trailhead.

Morning: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Head over to the the Blowout Wash Trail System by parking at the Yavapai College parking lot where you will find a trailhead. Kick off your second day with an invigorating hike on the Blowout Wash Trail System. Revel in the natural beauty as you traverse the diverse landscapes, showcasing the best of the Verde Valley's outdoors. The hike offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.

Afternoon: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

After the hike, walk over to the Yavapai College Southwest Wine Center for a well-deserved wine tasting experience. Explore the nuances of local wines and expand your palate with a variety of tasteful creations. The wine center provides a relaxing atmosphere to unwind and relish the flavors of the Verde Valley. If your trip falls on a weekday check out the Yavapai College Greenhouse Café on the campus for a tasty lunch!
